The story behind every Byzu print
Share
Every child sees the world differently.
Give a child a piece of paper and a few crayons, and something magical happens. They don't worry about staying inside the lines. They don't think about trends, perfection, or what other people might think. They simply create.
That fearless creativity is where every Byzu print begins.
Inspired by children's imagination
At Byzu, we don't start with trend forecasts or seasonal color palettes.
Instead, we look at the endless imagination of children. Their spontaneous drawings, playful shapes, unexpected color combinations, and beautifully imperfect lines inspire every collection we create.
Some prints are directly inspired by children's artwork through our Byzu Kids Lab, where young artists become part of the creative process. Others are carefully hand-drawn by our founder, capturing the same joyful freedom and expressive style that makes children's art so unique.
Every print tells a story of curiosity, creativity, and seeing the world without limitations.
Designed by hand
Every Byzu print starts on paper.
Our founder, Nathalie Baudry, is a graphic designer and surface pattern designer with a passion for creating original textile prints. Each illustration is drawn by hand before being transformed into a seamless repeating pattern.
This process takes time.
Every shape, every brushstroke, and every playful detail is carefully refined while preserving the imperfect character that gives the artwork its charm.
Nothing is generated automatically or taken from stock libraries.
Every design is uniquely created for Byzu.
Turning artwork into fabric
Creating beautiful fabric is much more than placing a drawing onto textile.
Once a print is finished, every color is carefully tested to ensure it works beautifully on premium fabrics. Scale, repeat, and placement are adjusted until every garment feels balanced and playful from every angle.
Only then is the fabric digitally printed in Europe using high-quality production methods that preserve every detail of the original artwork.
The result is clothing that feels just as artistic as the original drawing.
Why originality matters
In a world where many children's clothes feature licensed characters or repeated commercial prints, we wanted to create something different.
When children wear Byzu, they wear artwork they won't find anywhere else.
Every collection is produced in small quantities, making every print even more exclusive.
We believe children's clothing should be just as creative as childhood itself.
More than clothing
For us, our prints are not decoration.
They are the heart of our brand.
Every collection celebrates imagination, curiosity, and the freedom to create without rules.
Because the most beautiful ideas don't always come from adults.
Sometimes, they come from a child holding a crayon.
